Privacy policy

Last updated: 27 October 2026.

This policy explains what data is collected when you use the Yalla Ellab website and its Android app (which opens the same site), what it's used for, and how you can control it.

Data we don't collect

Playing on Yalla Ellab needs no sign-up: we never ask anyone for a name, email, phone number or photo to play, and there's no chat and nothing to buy. We collect no personal data at all from children under 13.

Leaderboards (optional, 13 and older)

The site's main games (not the children's games) have an optional leaderboard. If you're 13 or older and want to appear on it, you give a nickname, your email and your birthday, which we keep, with your best score in each game, on Cloudflare's servers.

Other players see only your nickname and score. We use your birthday to check you're 13 or older and to show the board for your age group (13-17, 18-24, 25+), and your email to contact you about the leaderboard if we need to. We don't sell or share this data.

You can edit your details or leave the leaderboard at any time under any game ("Leave the board"), and we then delete your nickname, email, birthday and scores. If you can't get to the device you joined on, write to us and we'll delete them.

Data stored on your device

Your best score in each game, your progress and game settings (such as sound and quality) are saved in your browser on the same device (Local Storage) and are never sent to us. If you join a leaderboard, a secret key that identifies you on it is saved too, and only then do your records go to the board. You can clear all of this at any time in your browser settings.

Technical data and hosting

The site is hosted on Cloudflare. As with any website, your browser sends technical data such as your IP address and browser type so the page can reach you, and Cloudflare uses it to deliver the site quickly and protect it from attacks. We don't use this data to identify you.

Statistics

We use Google Analytics and Google Ads tools to count visits and see which games are played most, with personalised ads and Google signals turned off. This data is anonymous and never linked to a person.

To show which games are hot and how many people are playing each one right now, the site itself counts how often each game is started, per hour, and keeps a connection open while a game is being played. It stores only those totals per game: no cookie, no id, no IP address and nothing about who played.

To see which games keep people playing, each game page also tells the site how long it was open before play was pressed or the page was left, how long the game took to load and was played, and which milestones were reached, along with the kind of device (phone, tablet or computer), the page language, the kind of page or site the visit came from (such as a search engine, an AI assistant or an ad), which AI assistant it was if one sent the visit, and whether the game was played on this device before. These are added to daily totals per game and kept for 90 days, with no cookie, no id and no IP address.

So that a game played later still knows which kind of site the visit started from, the browser tab keeps the name of the site that sent you here and its campaign tag (Session Storage) until the tab is closed. It stays in your browser; only the kind of site, such as "AI assistant: ChatGPT", goes into the totals above.

Cookies

The site sets no cookies of its own. The only cookies come from the services above (Google Analytics). You can delete or block cookies at any time in your browser settings, and the games keep working as normal.

You can read how Google uses data from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

Children's privacy

The site has games for children, so we never ask for or knowingly collect personal data from any child under 13: the children's games have no leaderboard, and the leaderboard turns away anyone whose birthday says they're under 13. If you're a parent and believe your child has sent us personal details (for example in an email), contact us and we'll delete them. See also our parents' page.

When you contact us

If you email us or message us on Facebook, we use what you wrote and your address only to reply to you. We never sell or share it, and we delete it once we no longer need it. You can ask us to delete your messages at any time.

Your choices

  • Clear high scores, settings and cookies in your browser settings.
  • Block cookies or use private browsing.
  • Edit your leaderboard details, or leave the leaderboard and delete them, under any game.
  • Ask us about your data or to delete any message you sent us.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we'll update the "Last updated" date above, and explain any significant change on this page.
