About Trailer Driver 3D
Trailer Driver 3D is a heavy-haulage driving game in the style of the big truck simulators, set on an Egyptian road. You drive a MAN tractor pulling two containers on a flatbed, and your first job runs from Cairo to Alexandria Port along the desert road: three lanes each way, a concrete barrier with lamp posts down the middle, blue overhead signs counting down the distance to Alexandria, and open desert and dunes on both sides.
The rig feels heavy: it takes time to build speed and a long way to stop, and the automatic gearbox works up through the gears to 80. The trailer pivots on the fifth wheel just like the real thing, so when you reverse it swings the opposite way to the steering, and if you overdo it, it jackknifes. The road is as busy as the real one: lorries keep right, impatient Accents and Ladas overtake on the left and flash you if you hold them up, and microbuses dart between lanes without signalling.
Follow the rules or pay for it: lorries are limited to 80 km/h and there are speed cameras, changing lanes without signalling gets you a fine, and crashes or scraping the barrier come out of your pay. On the way there's a toll plaza where you stop at a booth and pay before the barrier lifts, a police checkpoint where cones squeeze traffic into one lane at 40, road works closing the right lane, and a broken-down lorry on the hard shoulder. Billboards, villages, fields and date palms around Wadi El Natrun line the road, and the rest stop has a cafรฉ and a mosque next to the petrol station. You start low on diesel, so you'll need to fill up there. At the end you drive into the container yard and back the trailer into the yellow bay; the cleaner the parking, the more stars and the bigger the bonus.
How to play
- Press Hit the road: your truck is parked on the hard shoulder.
- Signal left and pull onto the road gently, then keep to the right-hand lane.
- Watch the speed limit in the red circle next to the speedometer, especially near speed cameras.
- When diesel runs low, stop at the petrol station on the right and press F or โฝ to fill up.
- At the yard, drive in through the gate, pull a little past the yellow bay, then reverse the trailer into it.
- With the trailer inside the yellow lines and the truck stopped, pull the handbrake to deliver.
Controls
| Keyboard | W or Up for gas, S or Down to brake (hold it at a stop to reverse), A and D or Left and Right to steer, Q and E for the indicators, Space for the handbrake, H for the horn, F to fill up at the station, C to change the camera, and P or Esc to pause. |
|---|---|
| Mouse | Drag with the mouse to swing the camera around the rig; it eases back behind you when you let go. |
| Touch | Turn the steering wheel on the left with your thumb, and press the green pedal for gas and the red one to brake on the right. The buttons above the pedals are the indicators, horn and handbrake, and a โฝ button appears at the petrol station. ๐ฅ at the top changes the camera. |
Tips to win
- Brake early: a loaded 37-tonne rig needs a long way to stop.
- When reversing, steer the opposite way to where you want the trailer to go, in small movements.
- The top camera (C) makes parking much easier.
- If you jackknife, pull forward a little until the trailer straightens, then try again.
Trailer Driver 3D: questions and answers
Is Trailer Driver free?
Yes, it's completely free and runs right in your browser with no download and no sign-up.
Can I play on my phone?
Yes. There's a steering wheel you turn with your left thumb, gas and brake pedals on the right, and buttons for the indicators, horn and handbrake. Hold your phone sideways.
How do I reverse the trailer?
Come to a complete stop and keep holding the brake for a moment: the gear shows R and you'll hear the reversing beeper. Now the brake drives you backwards and the gas pedal brakes. To go forward again, press the gas while stopped.
Why is money being taken off?
Every offence comes out of your pay: speed cameras if you're over the limit, changing lanes without signalling, crashes and hitting the barrier. Diesel costs money too. You see the net total at the end.
Is it like Euro Truck Simulator?
It's the same kind of game: a truck driving sim with real weight, a trailer that pivots behind the cab, traffic rules, refuelling and parking at the end. It's much lighter, runs in your browser and is set on an Egyptian road.
