About Bridge Battle

Bridge Battle is a 3D war game with three screens: the base, the workshop and the battle. The workshop is a grid of your units: drag a level 1 rifleman onto another level 1 rifleman and you get a level 2 rifleman stronger than both together. There are six kinds of unit: the rifleman, the fast-firing machine gunner, the sniper whose shots pierce several enemies, the tank, rocket artillery that blasts whole groups, and the commando who calls in airstrikes.

At the base you upgrade five buildings: the headquarters unlocks new units and levels and lets a bigger army into battle, the gold mine makes gold on its own, the barracks trains free soldiers, the factory builds free tanks and the research center makes every unit stronger.

When you're ready, press Fight: your blue army marches up an endless bridge over the sea, firing on its own while you steer it left and right. The enemy waves never stop, each one bigger and tougher than the last, and the battle ends when your last soldier falls, so the goal is to reach the furthest wave you can. Walk your army through the blue +1 boards to grow it, steer clear of the red boards (โˆ’1 to โˆ’5), which take away the soldiers who walk into them (bullets can't break either kind), break the numbered containers to win a heavy machine gun or a helicopter, and watch out: a container that reaches you in one piece crushes your soldiers. Every fifth wave brings the enemy warlord, and every tenth a giant Titan. There's no blood: soldiers pop into colorful little cubes.

How to play

  1. Press โ€œPlay nowโ€, then โ€œLet's go!โ€.
  2. In the workshop, drag two matching units (same kind, same level) onto each other to merge them, and buy units from the shop below.
  3. At the base, collect gold from the mine and upgrade buildings.
  4. Press Fight, pick your army and press Attack.
  5. In battle your army fires on its own; steer it left and right to walk through the +1 boards and shoot the containers, avoid the red boards, dodge a container you can't break in time, and see how many waves you survive.

Controls

KeyboardWorkshop: arrow keys move between cells, Enter picks a unit up and drops it on its twin, 1 to 6 buy units. Battle: Left and Right arrows or A and D steer the army (it fires on its own); P or Esc pauses.
MouseDrag a unit onto a matching one to merge them, or click one and then the other. In battle the army follows the mouse left and right and fires on its own.
TouchDrag a unit onto a matching one to merge them, or tap one and then the other. In battle drag left and right to steer the army; it fires on its own.

Tips to win

  • A big unit takes only one place in battle, so merge before you buy more.
  • Upgrade the research center: it boosts every unit you have at once, even the ones you buy later.
  • Machine gunners mow down weak soldiers, but shields and tanks need a sniper or a tank.
  • Rocket artillery is the answer to big crowds marching close together.

Bridge Battle: questions and answers

Is Bridge Battle free to play?

Yes, it's completely free and runs right in your browser, with no download, no sign-up and no ads inside the game.

Is my progress saved?

Yes, your workshop, buildings and best wave are saved on your device automatically. Come back later and the mine has made gold and the barracks has trained soldiers while you were away (up to two hours).

Can I play it on my phone?

Yes: drag with your finger to merge units and steer the army, or tap two units one after the other. It also works on computers with a mouse or keyboard.

Is there any violence or blood?

No blood at all. The soldiers and tanks are colorful toys, units that lose pop into little cubes, and your units return to the workshop after every battle.
