About English Practice

English Practice follows the English books used in Egyptian schools, unit by unit, from KG1 and KG2 up to Primary 6. Pick your grade, then the term and the unit you are studying in class, and the game loads exactly that unit's words to practise.

Every unit has six games: listen and pick the picture, read and pick the meaning, spell the word from letter tiles, build a sentence from scrambled words, memory pairs that match each word to its picture, and letter sounds for KG and Primary 1. Each round has 10 questions and ends with up to three stars, saved for every unit so you can see what you have finished.

The game reads words aloud with your device's English voice, and shows them on screen when there is no voice. It is great for quick revision before exams or over the holidays, and it is free with no sign-up and no download.

How to play

  1. Pick your grade, then the term and the unit.
  2. Choose one of the six games: listen, read, spell, sentences, memory pairs or letter sounds.
  3. Answer the questions. If you slip, you see and hear the right answer.
  4. Collect stars at the end of the round and aim for three stars in every game of the unit.

Controls

KeyboardType letters in Spell it, and press 1 to 4 to pick an answer.
MouseClick the right picture or word, and the letters in order. ๐Ÿ”Š says the word and ๐Ÿ’ก gives a hint.
TouchTap the answer or the letters. The buttons are big and easy to hit on phones and tablets.

Tips to win

  • Start with Listen & pick to learn how a word looks and sounds, then try Spell it.
  • Say each word out loud along with the game; it helps the pronunciation stick.
  • Memory pairs is fun to play together: take turns flipping two cards each.

English Practice: questions and answers

Does it follow the current Egyptian English curriculum?

Yes. Units are ordered like the English books in Egyptian government and experimental schools from KG to Primary 6, both terms, and we update them when the books change. The questions are our own, built on each unit's words and grammar.

My child is in KG and can't read yet. Can they play?

Yes. Listen & pick and Letter sounds work with pictures and sound. Sit with your child the first time and say the words together.

Where are the stars saved?

Only on your device, with no account. Each unit shows how many stars you have collected.

Is there a maths version too?

Yes. Math Practice works the same way on the units of each grade's maths book.
