About Frog Crossing
Frog Crossing is our own neon-at-night take on the old arcade frog game everyone remembers: a little green frog has to get home to the far bank, and between him and his lily pad lie a busy road and a wide river.
The road has five lanes: a yellow cab, a pink coupe, a lightning-fast racer, a slow bulldozer and a long truck, each with its own direction and speed. Past the middle sidewalk comes the river, where the frog can't swim, so he hops onto short, medium and long logs and onto turtles' backs. Watch out: some turtles dive under the water!
Fill all five homes at the top to clear the level. Every level the traffic and logs speed up and more turtles dive. You start with 3 frogs and earn extra ones as your score climbs. It's a light retro game that runs on any computer or phone with nothing to download, and your best score is saved on your device.
How to play
- Press “Play now”, then “Start”.
- Hop forward and wait for a gap in the traffic before you step into a lane.
- Catch your breath on the middle sidewalk, then jump onto the nearest log or turtle.
- The river carries you along, so don't let it sweep you off the screen.
- Hop into an empty home before the time bar runs out. Bumping into the bushes between homes costs a frog.
- Fill all five homes to reach the next level.

- Every second left on the timer is worth 10 points when you reach a home, so keep moving.
- The racer comes out of nowhere: let it pass, then hop right behind it.
Frog Crossing: questions and answers
Is Frog Crossing free?
Yes, it's completely free and plays right in your browser with no download or sign-up.
Can I play the frog game on my phone?
Yes. Tap beside the frog in the direction you want, swipe, or use the arrow buttons that appear under the game.
How do I get an extra frog?
Your first extra frog comes at 5,000 points, then one more every 10,000 points.
Why does the frog lose a life in the river?
In this game the frog has to stay on logs and turtles. If he lands in the water he makes a splash, and a new frog starts from the bottom.
What age is Frog Crossing for?
It's great from about 7 and up, and grown-ups love it too. There's no violence: if a car bumps the frog, it just spins, sees stars and vanishes in a puff.
